Today, instead of attending school early in the morning, we went to visit the Mennonites in a town nearby. Their school is very small - Only 20 students get taught by teachers who are as young as we are, 15 & 18. We sang "Danke" and gave them some sweets we brought from Germany. After watching them playing baseball we left and returned to school, having classes till afternoon. For lunch we had Chili with crackers and a cinnamon roll, that was pretty awesome. After school my host and I went to Austin, we went to the dentist and then to Hyvee to do some shopping. I had the idea of baking together in the afternoon, so we bought everything we needed and went home. After supper we started baking and the final result were some delicious Spekulatius cookies (which we ate right away). So we're having a wonderful time!
Monday, 19th of October Monday was a normal school day and like every other morning in school we listened to the pledge of allegience what is basically the promise to honor the flag and the rights of the USA. After that the classes started. My first one was world history after that I had mythology where we spoke about Theseus and the Minotaur. After school wich ends usually at quarter past three Ericka, the older sister of my host Abby and me went to a grocery store to buy some candy for my friends at home. In the evening we watched a movie so it was a pretty normal day but anyway very funny.
